Today I had the pleasure to officially launch a free WiFi by the Northern Incubation and Innovation Hub (NII-Hub) at the KNLS Wajir branch. This is a significant milestone towards Wajir County’s goal of empowering the youth of our county and providing them with opportunities to unlock their full potential.

The free Wi-Fi service will provide a platform for young innovators, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts to collaborate, learn, and develop their skills. It will provide access to modern technologies and networking opportunities to help our youth turn their ideas into successful ventures.

I urged the youth to take advantage of this service in order to develop their talent and creativity, ultimately leading to the creation of jobs for themselves and others. By doing so, the issue of unemployment will be addressed while simultaneously reducing the risk of radicalization.

I called upon all other private sector players to join us in setting up such noble mission in other parts of the county.
Under the leadership of H.E Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, the County Government through the Department of ICT, Trade, Cooperatives and Investment has long term plans to improve the lives through promotion of trade and investments, promotion of co-operative societies and innovative ICT solutions.
I also had an opportunity to check the ICT status of the library and promised to extend County’s ICT support to the Hub and the library in order for the available ICT equipment to function optimally and efficiently.

I would like to express my gratitude to NII-Hub and KNLS Wajir for their contribution to making this free Wi-Fi service a reality. I am confident that this will be a transformative initiative that will benefit our youth and our county for many years to come.
I was accompanied by the Hon MCA for Lagboqol South and the Director ICT, Mr. Mohamed Shahid.
